Milos Raonic plans to begin hitting again next week, having taken more time off for a foot problem that required surgery during the clay season.

The 24-year-old Canadian fell in the third round of Wimbledon to Nick Kyrgios, and withdrew from Davis Cup because of compensation problems created by the foot.

"Being a nerve issue, you just don't know how it's going to react every single day. That was probably the most frustrating thing," he told local media at an event in Toronto, promoting his appearance in the men's Rogers Cup in Montreal.

But the No. 8 said he would be ready to play the men's Masters event, and a full hardcourt season. Raonic will not, however, defend his title at Washington the week prior to Montreal.
