World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who lost to Andy Murray in the Montreal final and to Roger Federer in the Cincinnati final, says that he is not pleased with how he is playing overall.

Earlier this year, Djokovic won three big events on hard courts—the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami. He says that at the U.S. Open, which starts next week, he needs to be more consistent than he was at the previous two Masters events.
“Played a couple good matches and couple not-so-good matches," Djokovic said in Cincinnati. "Still not very happy with my form and with my game, but I have a week to work on it. Conditions in New York suit me a little bit better, so I look forward to it.”
The nine-time Grand Slam champion has only won just one U.S. Open, in 2011, but has reached the final five times. The 28-year-old has won every ATP Masters 1000 tournament except for Cincinnati; he has reached the Cincy final five times.
“Of course it was playing an important role in my approach to this tournament. Does every year for last couple years,” Djokovic said. “This year I got to the finals, step closer. Let's see. I'm going to keep going, keep fighting to make the history.

"Obviously it's a great incentive and inspired me to come back and play my best tennis.”
