Maria Sharapova says she is still not fully fit following a leg injury that has prevented her from playing any warm-up events before the U.S. Open.

Sharapova has not competed since Wimbledon, and indicated that she is doing only limited training this week in New York.

"I'm back on the court a little bit, I'm not moving as much as I'd like to yet," Sharapova told the WTA website. "It's still a day-to-day thing. I'm spending a lot of time in the gym and on the massage table and all that."

The world No. 3 will have to be sharp right away at Flushing Meadows, having drawn Daria Gavrilova in the first round of the tournament. The Australian-based Russian defeated Sharapova in her opening match in Miami this year.
