Nicolas Escude, the co-coach of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, says he has stopped working with the former No. 4.

After Tsonga beat Gilles Simon to win the final of Metz, Escude tweeted, “After 2 years spent alongside Jo, my mission is stopping. Good luck for the future. Very exciting new projects in sight.”

Thierry Ascione also coaches Tsonga.

The 39-year-old former player Escude retired in 2006. He reached the semifinal at the Australian Open in 1998. Escude was the captain of the Fed Cup from 2009-2012. He began working with Tsonga in 2014.
