Girls creator, scribe and star Lena Dunham has done a lot in her career by age 29, and she's not done yet. Due to her character's recent stint as a running enthusiast, she actually got hooked on that fitness option and isn't looking back.

Now, in a new interview with espnW, she addresses the so-called "body shaming" of star athletes including Serena Williams and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey. Says Dunham, "With Serena Williams and Ronda Rousey, men are thinking, 'You could beat me up, that f---ing scares me, you have achieved more than I ever will in my lifetime, so I'm going to get online and tell you that you don't look like someone I want to f---.' That is where I believe it comes from. And it's so unenlightened. And man, it's a bummer."

Dunham's words are certainly charged, but they ring true. And in light of the body shaming sent her way by feckless, anonymous trolls via social media over time, she knows that of which she speaks. Interestingly, Williams and Rousey were recently pitted against each other in espnW's Best Female Athlete Ever bracket.

Suffice it to say, all ill-intended body shaming aside, neither of these women goes down without a fight, and rarely ever does. Advantage, Williams/Rousey.
