Andy Murray had a tough out tonight under the New York lights. Or did he? He took a two-sets-to-none lead against the mercurial Nick Kyrgios without even playing well, according to ESPN's John McEnroe. Still, Murray biffed the end of the third stanza, playing a poor service game to give Kyrgios have a bit more screen time before notching a 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory.

Needless to say, Kyrgios made the most of his night. Outside the points, that is.

He took to a newfound penchant for naps on changeovers:

While one player, Murray, applied ice to his neck to stay cool in the humid Queens night, his foe, Kyrgios, was downright comfy:

Then he let fly his own racquet on another one of his patented, wrist-snapping forehand drives:

Before these histrionics, intended or not, Kyrgios had words with the chair umpire early on about Arthur Ashe Stadium ushers letting fans into the arena's seats and walkways in the midst of points:

A number of fans took Kyrgios' actions in stride, content to let Nick be Nick. Not everyone was amused by these antics, however. Take fellow player Noah Rubin, for one:

And the same held true for one of Kyrgios' forerunners, the never-boring John McEnroe:

That's enough of Nick Kyrgios for these two weeks, Murray decided. For better, for worse. Don't look now, though, if you're a detractor of the brash, 20-year-old Aussie: He has filed for a mixed-doubles wild card entry alongside Genie Bouchard, another young star who could use a spot of good news.
