Even though he was thrashed by Andy Murray at the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris, David Goffin says he still has a chance against the Scot in the Davis Cup final. Murray defeated Goffin, 6-1 6-0 on indoor hard courts in Paris.

Murray and Goffin are their respective team's top players for the Davis Cup final set for Nov. 27-29 in Belgium on indoor clay. No. 16-ranked Goffin has played Murray just one other time, losing in straight sets at Wimbledon last year.

“I just wasn’t feeling good on the court today,” Goffin said following the Paris match. “I felt tired. My body was on the court, but there was nobody inside. But I’m feeling good on clay. I have two or maybe three weeks to feel the game on clay. I think it [Davis Cup ] will be a different match.”

Before the tie,  Murray will play the ATP World Tour Finals in London on hard courts starting on November 15.

The world No. 2 has practiced on clay for a couple of weeks, and said he was happy to face Goffin prior to the Davis Cup final.

“It was good for me to get the chance to play him before the Davis Cup,” Murray said. “Especially against someone you haven’t really played before, you learn how the ball comes off their racket and the speed of shot that he has and where he’s quick and where he doesn’t move so well or defend as well. I know the clay will be different but indoor conditions don’t normally change too much.”
