Richard Gasquet has confirmed his withdrawal from Doha with a back injury.
The Frenchman, who has had chronic back problems, hurt himself during an appearance for the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) competition.
Gasquet, who had a medical examination upon his return and indicated that the injury was not seen as serious, is still scheduled to play the Australian Open. He is No. 9 in the world rankings.
