John Isner is having a grand ole’ time in the desert. On Tuesday, he was the only American man to advance—of four who played—when he topped Adrian Mannarino, 7-4, 7-6 (4) to reach the fourth round of Indian Wells.

Though the match was close, it was one-way traffic when it came to Isner’s serve. It was impenetrable, as he won 100 percent of his first-serve points, and lost just four points off his second serve.

While the world No. 11 is clearly used to cranking out massive serves in clutch situations…

…he’s also able to slow it down when necessary. A couple days earlier, Isner took some time to hit some balls with 100-year-old Nels Glesne. Yeah you read that right, 100.
