There’s been a definite buzz surrounding a rising group of American teenagers.Taylor Fritz has stolen the show by cracking the Top 100, but right behind him is19-year-old Jared Donaldson.

The California native took the ATP on a tour of his Irvine home, and the world learned some things about the 6’2” rising star.

Donaldson is very serious about tennis, there’s no doubt about it. He’s ranked No. 158 with three ITF Pro Circuit titles and an ATP Challenger title under his belt. Still, it’s painfully obvious he’s also just a normal American teen as he quite seriously explains that his second priority to tennis is… gaming.

He jokes that he spends more time on his computer than sleeping. Sound like any teenager you know?

“At 10 gotta shut… well, 10:30—10:30 maximum… 11 ‘o-clock, absolute maximum,gotta shut off the computer,” he says.

It also looks like he’s living the college lifestyle with his reliance on coffee (note the Keurig machine and Starbucks habit) and instant ramen noodles, the staple food of poor dorm room students.

But then he shows off his high-altitude tent surrounding his bed so he can rest at altitudes of 10,000 feet, and that’s when we remember this is a high-caliber athlete dedicated to making big moves on the ATP tour one day soon.
