ROGER THAT: Not long before he battled past Grigor Dimitrov in four sets, Roger Federer took in the Maria Sharapova-Lauren Davis match alongside his foe in waiting. It elicited this response to a 27-stroke rally:

Pity poor Davis, the 6-1, 6-7, 6-0, loser. She lost that point three times before she truly lost it.

CHOC-FULL: You might say Forbes is obsessed with Sharapova business news. That said, an initial $500,000 investment within a $28 billion industry probably wasn't a shabby idea.

DIRT OFF YOUR SHOULDER: Making the rounds on the Melbourne practice courts, Victoria Azarenka—outside of Serena Williams, perhaps the top contender for the women's single title—flat out ignored former coach Sam Sumyk as he watched his current student, Garbine Muguruza, hit.
