The Star K is Diadora’s top of the line performance shoe. It carries a blend of strong support features and creature comforts that garnered it the highest marks among our male testers. The kangaroo leather upper offers a lived-in, comfortable feel right out of the box. Even though it doesn’t appear overly breathable, the Power Flow ventilation system comprised off a reinforced wire mesh cutout in the outsole and perforations in the upper is surprisingly effective. The Axeler Wi-5 Propulsion shank diminishes court impact while returning that energy into the next stride. Given all these features it’s still light on the feet, and its traditional tongue design which makes it much quicker to get on your feet.
It has a roomy forefoot, but some testers believed the shoe ran slightly small. That, along with having a women’s specific last, makes the Star K a must try-on, but it’s definitely worth the effort.
