Garbine Muguruza, who fell in her opener in Dubai, says she may not play Doha following a lackluster performance.

In her first WTA event since a third-round exit at the Australian Open, the world No. 5 was error-prone in her defeat to Elina Svitolina. She did, however, win both her Fed Cup matches against Serbia before the tournament.

"I'm not really finding my game," she said in a press conference following her exit. "I think I have to rest a little bit and concentrate again, and work hard and eventually come back to the tournament to play again … I think I'm not really ready to compete. I need to work a little bit more. My shots, my fitness. So we'll see."

A foot problem hampered the 22-year-old in her first event of the season, though she has not indicated whether it is still affecting her.

Asked if she would play next week’s event in Doha, she said, "If I'm not 100 percent, I don't think it's necessary."

All eight seeds fell in their opening-round matches in Dubai.
