David Ferrer is the second Top 10 player to withdraw from Indian Wells, joining Roger Federer on the sidelines.

After falling to Alexandr Dolgopolov in Acapulco, the world No. 8 said he was lacking motivation and energy, and indicated that he might not play the BNP Paribas Open. It is not known whether he will play Miami.

Tommy Robredo and Marcos Baghdatis have also withdrawn from the tournament.
