David Ferrer and Richard Gasquet have both withdrawn from the Barcelona Open.
Ferrer, who withdrew with the same leg injury that kept him from playing Monte Carlo a week ago, was scheduled to play Radek Stepanek in his opening match, while Gasquet was scheduled to play Malek Jaziri.
Both players were at the tournament and did promotional activities, including visiting the site of the legendary Barcelona soccer team, where they were given personalized jerseys.
Rafael Nadal is the top player at the ATP 500 tournament.
