Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate an inimitable artist, he who shall forever be known as Prince. The 57-year-old musician was a star whose earthbound breath was snuffed out on Thursday, to the surprise of legions of fans and observers.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Prince's fellow musician and tennis fan, quickly took to Twitter to proclaim his love for one of the greatest performers of all-time.

What's perhaps lesser-known about Prince is that he was a tennis fan, and—as you might assume—one who did not appear at major events wearing a mesh-back baseball cap and polo. Indeed, only His Royal Badness could rock a tank top and a turtleneck while sporting an afro and aviators—and wield a silver scepter—and still look like the epitome of cool. On anyone else, that's a lot of look. But on Prince, it's another quick trip down to the corner store.
