You may have seen Serena Williams dust off Svetlana Kuznetsova on Friday at the Italian Open in Rome. It was her most decisive win in 12 matches against her sometimes-rival, who has beaten her twice at major events and once this year. The victory came by a 6-0, 6-2 score. Again, if you saw it, then you know she has come back from pedestrian-by-her-standards results this season with a searing focus. On Saturday, she swept past Irina-Camelia Begu, 6-4, 6-1 to set up a final clash against Madison Keys.

And because SnapChat isn't enough, Serena will soon debut a full-length documentary film created in her honor. It's titled "Serena: The Other Side of Greatness." It will appear on the Epix channel, and it may very well be, well, epic. That's not a word your loyal Spin keeper seeks to use often, but when you have such a formidable subject before you, one chasing herstory with each passing major at this point, then "epic" surely fits. Here's the teaser for what's forthcoming on June 22:

Serena makes some poignant and powerful statements in this trailer. Among them, she notes, "I've had people put me down because I didn't look like them. I look stronger. I've had people look past me because of the color of my skin. I've had people overlook me because I was a woman. I've had critics say I will never win another Grand Slam when I was only at No. 7, and now here I stand today with 21 Grand Slam titles—and I'm still going."

She goes further, even alluding to her eventual retirement from professional tennis. "There's records, there's numbers that I'm really close to," Serena says over a montage of moving images set to a dramatic track. "Whether I reach those numbers or not, I will play, and I will fight, and when I feel that I am done, then I'll be done."

Wimbledon, where Serena could optimally begin her quest to break Steffi Graf's major-singles-title record, begins June 27, five days after this documentary first airs. Before that, see you in Paris.
