Serena Williams advanced at the French Open on Thursday with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory over Teliana Pereira.

That result didn’t come as much of a shock.

But the world No. 1 has some company in the form of her sister, who reached the third round at Roland Garros for the first time since 2010.

Venus, seeded ninth, turned back the clock in the second round with an impressive 6-2, 6-1 victory over 20-year-old countrywoman Louisa Chirico.

Playing on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, the elder Williams needed just 54 minutes to send her opponent packing.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion, who will turn 36 in less than a month, has never won the French Open. She was the runner-up at the tournament in 2002—losing to Serena in the final—but hasn’t had much success in Paris since reaching the fourth round in 2010. (She hasn’t reached the quarters since 2006.)

Venus missed the tournament in 2011 and lost to Agnieszka Radwanska in the second round in 2012, Urszula Radwanska in the first round in 2013, Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the second round in 2014 and Sloane Stephens in the first round last year.

Venus will play Alize Cornet in the third round, and if she gets past the Frenchwoman—who will be the beneficiary of an adoring home crowd‑—she’ll face either Pauline Parmentier or eighth-seeded Timea Bacsinszky in the fourth.

Serena and Venus could potentially square off in the semifinals.
