Belinda Bencic is enjoying a pain-free comeback in 's-Hertogenbosch after a back injury sidelined her during the clay season.

The teenager defeated Alison Van Uytvanck in a third-set tiebreaker in the first round of the Ricoh Open. The 22-year-old Belgian was also coming back from injury.

"I was just very happy to be on court like this today," Bencic told the WTA website on Tuesday after her 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (3) win. "Nothing hurt ... I think it was a very tough way to come back, but I just want to go like this match by match."

In the Round of 16 on Thursday, the top-seeded Bencic came from behind to edge Varvara Lepchenko, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Bencic is defending a lot of points as she returns. In 2015, the Swiss reached the final in 's-Hertogenbosch, won Eastbourne and reached the fourth round of Wimbledon.

She is No. 8 in the rankings.
