LONDON—Marion Bartoli, who didn’t participate in an exhibition doubles match at Wimbledon due to health concerns, says she has a virus which is preventing her from eating.

Bartoli weighs significantly less than she did when she retired, and her appearance is increasingly prompting health concerns. The former Wimbledon champion has previously attributed her reduced frame to having less stress following her retirement from the WTA tour, and also to changing her eating habits and fitness routine.

According to British reports, she was scheduled to play the women's invitational doubles at Wimbledon, but was withdrawn from the event by officials for unspecified medical reasons.

In an interview with *Paris Match*, she said doctors had diagnosed her with a virus.

"I have a virus my body is combating," she said. "It's the reason why I can't eat anything … I'll have to be admitted to a clinic in Italy at the finish of Wimbledon."

Bartoli is a commentator for BBC, and other networks, at the tournament.
