Novak Djokovic says he will be happy to play under the new roof at the U.S. Open.

The world No. 1, speaking at the tournament draw ceremony, said that playing indoors benefits players differently, depending on their games.

The Serb has had success playing under a closed roof at other tournaments.

"From the experience that I've had ... in [the] Australian Open and Wimbledon, the balls get bigger, so the conditions are slower,” he said. “Which [I] like, occasionally. I'm not going to wake up in the morning and call for the rain, but I'm not going to complain.”

Tournament officials say the roof will be used only for rain—or anticipated rain—and not for other weather conditions.
