Caroline Wozniacki says Sascha Bajin will be a hitting partner and assistant coach.

Bajin, who was Serena Williams' longtime hitting partner and most recently worked with Victoria Azarenka, attended his first event with Wozniacki a week ago in Doha, where she reached the final.

Wozniacki said he would help her father and coach, Piotr, in addition to practicing with her.

"He looks at the matches, too,” she told the WTA website. “He scouts, and they talk a lot [about] what they feel I can improve on, and things like that. He comes with inputs and practices. He's definitely a hitter—plus. Assistant coach, I guess.”

Wozniacki and Williams have a prominent friendship, and Wozniacki said she consulted the world No. 1 about the new addition to her team.

"I definitely talked to Serena about it," she said. "Just wanted to hear, and also how she feels about me working with him. You just want to know that you don't clash. She said he's a very hard worker, and she has nothing bad to say about him. She likes him a lot."

Wozniacki is No. 15 in the rankings.
