Karolina Pliskova: Stop mixing up my sister and I!

Karolina Pliskova says she and twin sister Kristyna don't want to keep being confused for one another.

With Karolina in the Top 5—she's currently No. 3—and Kristyna recently climbing into the Top 100 (No. 55), the two are playing more of the same events, making it even tougher to tell the identical twins apart.

"It's happening almost every day, like [a] hundred times," she told reporters in Doha. "I almost got used to this thing. But still [it surprises] me ... Yeah, I think we have different first names, so maybe the people could see the draw and just don't make sure they're still confusing us."

Karolina doesn't see the mix-ups stopping.

"Sometimes it's not really nice, especially for her," she said. "But, yeah, we are identical twins."

Both Pliskovas are playing this week's event in Dubai, where Kristyna—not Karolina—defeated Roberta Vinci in the first round. This past weekend, Karolina defeated Caroline Wozniacki in the Doha final for her second title of 2017.

The Pliskovas are the second-highest ranked pair of sisters on the WTA tour, behind Serena and Venus Williams.
