Garcia ends partnership with Mladenovic to focus on singles career

Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia are halting their highly successful doubles partnership, with Garcia deciding to increase her attention on singles.

"At Dubai, Caroline Garcia explained to me she wanted to finish our partnership in doubles to concentrate on singles," Mladenovic told French reporters in Acapulco.

Writing on Twitter, Mladenovic thanked Garcia for their play together in 2016. The 23-year-old Frenchwoman plans to keep playing doubles, and said she would be announcing a new partner.

The pair won the French Open in 2016, and is currently the second-highest-ranked doubles team on the WTA tour.
