Madison Keys is setting bigger goals for herself in Miami, her second tournament since returning from wrist surgery.

Keys, who underwent wrist surgery in the offseason, reached the third round of Indian Wells in her first event back, falling to Caroline Wozniacki.

The 22-year-old wants to have an even smoother start this week.

"I think, in some ways, it's going to be," she told reporters in Miami. "I feel like I've gotten some of the rust out. I also think the expectation that I have from myself is now a little bit higher."

Keys won her second career title in 2016 and reached the Top 10. Having reunited with coach Lindsay Davenport for her comeback, the big-hitting baseliner says she is aiming higher than she did when she first started her career.

"Yeah, just in general,” Keys said. “…Feeling a lot more comfortable playing on the tour … I always watched these tournaments and want to be seeded and get the bye and be in the second week of Slams and all that. So looking back, I'm definitely happy that I've gotten here.

"Now being where I am, I just want, you know, to be Top 5, to win a Slam, all of that. So [I] definitely have bigger goals ahead."

Keys, the eighth seed, has a first-round bye at the WTA Premier Mandatory.
