Sam Querrey, who upset Rafael Nadal to win the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Acapulco, said that this victory might be his best win ever.

The 29-year-old bested four top-20 players in a row to capture one of his biggest tour titles, defeating David Goffin, Dominic Thiem, Nick Kyrgios and the 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal.

“I felt after beating Goffin, I knew I could go far,” he told press of his run during the week. “I played really well. I felt like I might not win, but I could go deep.

"It was [a week where] everything was working for me.”

Querrey has won nine titles, including Los Angeles, Memphis, Queen’s Club and Delray Beach. He also defeated Novak Djokovic and reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2016.

But he said Acapulco topped that Grand Slam breakthrough. "I think this one, because it was a final and you get a trophy to go along with the win," he said.

Querrey will be back into the top 30 with the victory. “I hope I will keep rising,” he said. “I hope I will keep playing even better at Indian Wells and Miami.

"I need to keep up my level and commitment to my playing style.”
