Kvitova shares photo of her practicing on court; visits with Wozniacki

Petra Kvitova is practicing for the first time since a knife attack in her home during the off-season left her left hand badly injured.

The two-time Wimbledon champion recently said that she remains entered in the French Open, though she indicated that she is unlikely to return in time for the clay-court major.

Caroline Wozniacki came to see Kvitova before playing the WTA tournament in Prague this week. The Czech Republic has won five Fed Cup titles since 2011, largely on the strength of Kvitova.

Speaking to local press at a clinic before the tournament, Wozniacki described Kvitova as cheerful and working to recover from her injuries.

"I saw her a couple of days ago," she said. "It's good to see her smiling, and getting her rehab and everything done."

Wozniacki noted that the most important thing for Kvitova was to recover mentally from the incident.

"I'm sure it must be very difficult for her, but she's a great person, great girl, and stays positive," said Wozniacki. "I hope to see her back."
