Grigor Dimitrov wants to keep better concentration during matches, as he did during his first-round win at Queen’s Club.

Dimitrov is currently ranked No. 11. Last week, he lost in the first round in Stuttgart against Jerzy Janowicz, but won in straight sets against Ryan Harrison at Queen’s on Monday.

“I was pushing myself to just stay in the moment,” Dimitrov said, “stay in the present, return every ball that I can, make sure that I take the right decision; trying to serve as best I can and making sure that I keep that focus throughout the whole time.”

Dimitrov had a good start to the season, winning two titles and reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open, and while he's slipped since then, he likes playing on grass.

Three years ago he won the tournament at Queen’s Club, beating Stan Wawrinka and Feliciano Lopez to win the title. The Bulgarian then reached the semifinals at Wimbledon, upsetting Andy Murray in five dramatic sets in the quarters before losing to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals in four tight sets.

It's even more important to compete hard when gearing up for a Grand Slam, Dimitrov added.

“Now we are playing best of three, but in two weeks' time we are going to be playing best of five,” he said. “So you need to push yourself to get over that extra hurdle. Even if it's in straight sets, you still need to push yourself to have that mentality that you have done the work.”
