Andy Murray plans to travel to New York next week, indicating that he will attempt to play the U.S. Open.

The 30-year-old, who will fall to No. 2 in the rankings next week, has been sidelined with a hip injury since Wimbledon. He has not confirmed whether he will compete at Flushing Meadows.

But according to *The Guardian*, Murray will make the trip as scheduled, and should compete if there are no additional problems.

Murray fell to Sam Querrey in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, with his movement significantly impaired by the injury during the encounter.
