Murray was at the ATP player meeting three days before Australian Open play began, and is still in Australia. According to the *Daily Mail*, he could attend the tournament, where his brother, Jamie, is competing in the doubles.

Murray has said the surgery was successful, and is aiming to return during the grass-court season. He has been off the tour since Wimbledon.

The former No. 1 had been scheduled to return at Brisbane and the Australian Open, but withdrew when his hip issues returned, prompting him to undergo surgery.

During his layoff, he has slipped to No. 19 in the rankings.
