Venus Williams played the roles of starter and closer to perfection this weekend in Fed Cup.

The American clinched the 3-0 victory over the Netherlands with a straight-sets win against Richel Hogenkamp. Yesterday, Williams won the first point of the tie by defeating Arantxa Rus, 6-1, 6-4.

In between those two matches, CoCo Vandeweghe rallied from a set down to beat Hogenkamp, ranked 108 in the world.

More details to come.
