Writing on social media, Thiem said he hoped to be "100 percent again" for the clay season.

According to Austrian press, though, Thiem has a small fracture in his ankle and might not be ready by then. His first scheduled clay-court event is in Monte Carlo.

But David Goffin, who has been sidelined since a ball hit his eye at Rotterdam, announced that he will play Miami. He had previously withdrawn from Indian Wells.
