On Thursday, Juan Martin del Potro faces David Goffin in the round of 16 of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia.

With both players ranked inside the Top 10, this was an easy choice as our Tennis Channel Plus Match of the Day.

Del Potro had a rough outing in Madrid, losing his second match of the tournament to Dusan Lajovic. The Argentine had a 4-0 lead in the third-set tiebreaker, but he took his foot off the gas and let the match get away.

Luckily for del Potro, his Rome tournament got off to a smoother start with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 32. The Greek player had been performing at a high level on clay, so it was a great rebound performance for del Potro.

Match point from Del Potro's win over Kei Nishikori in Miami:

Unlike del Potro, who earned a first-round bye, Goffin has had to play two matches in Rome thus far. The Belgian has defeated both Leonardo Mayer and Maco Cecchinato to get to this point, but he knows that it's going to take a stellar performance in order to beat the fifth seed on Thursday.

The two players have split their two matches against one another; the most recent resulted in a 7-5, 6-3 win for del Potro in Basel. Del Potro has the ability to overpower Goffin on any given day, but he also isn't playing his best tennis at the moment. That could create an opening for Goffin, who should make it his goal to extend points and tire del Potro out.

ATP Rome (5/13 - 5/20)
