Kevin Anderson won the biggest match of his career in Wednesday's Wimbledon quarterfinals when he came from two sets and match point down to stun eight-time champion Roger Federer. It's debatable whether his next win, in the next round, surpasses that shocker in proverbial "bigness."

But that next win was certainly the longest match of his career—six hours and 36 minutes, to be exact. It was also the second-longest match in the history of Grand Slam tennis. The South African beat fellow college-turned-ATP pro, John Isner, by the absurd scoreline of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5), 6-7 (9), 6-4, 26-24.
