Angelique Kerber has announced that Rainer Schuttler will be her new coach.

The three-time Grand Slam champion split with her previous coach, Wim Fissette, despite a successful season in which she won a Grand Slam and got back to second in the rankings.

She will start working with the former ATP player during the offseason.

"I am really looking forward to the opportunity of working with Angelique during this phase of her career," Schuttler was quoted as saying in a statement. "She has obviously shown what a great champion she is and I hope my experience can bring a fresh perspective to an already strong team."

Fissette is now working with Victoria Azarenka, who he has previously coached.

Top-ranked Simona Halep is also looking for a coach.
