American Danielle Collins put on a dazzling performance on Margaret Court Arena on Sunday, beating second-seeded Angelique Kerber, 6-0 6-2, to reach the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of her career.

Collins, who had taken out two seeds en route to the fourth round—No. 14 seed Julia Goerges and No. 19 seed Caroline Garcia—was dialed in from the beginning, storming through the first set in just 20 minutes (and hitting more than twice as many winners as unforced errors in the set, 13 to 5).

Things got a little bit tighter early in the second set—the two players traded breaks in the first two games, then traded holds to make it 2-2—but the big-hitting Collins caught fire one more time, reeling off four games in a row to complete the 56-minute rout, finishing it off with a drop-shot winner.

Collins and Kerber finished with the same amount of unforced errors for the day (17) but the American hit almost five times as many winners as the three-time Grand Slam champion (29 to 6).

“When I was in college, my coaches always told me to go after it and believe in my shots, and having that experience has helped me at the pro level,” Collins said in her on-court interview. “I go out fearless. I’ve been working so hard my whole life. I just give it my all and don’t really think about it.”

The American’s run Down Under is even more surprising given she had never even won a match at a Grand Slam coming in—she’d fallen first round in all five of her previous Grand Slam main draws.

But she radiated confidence in her on-court interview.

“I may not have won a Grand Slam match before this, but I’ve got to tell you, I think it’s going to keep happening,” she declared.

“I hope to have many more of these.”

Next up for Collins in the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of her career will be either No. 5 seed Sloane Stephens or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who play the featured women’s night match on Sunday night.

She’s never played either one.

“I’m definitely going to be watching tonight,” Collins said of Stephens and Pavlyuchenkova. “We’ll come up with a good game plan, and hopefully it’ll be another amazing match of tennis for me.”

Kerber was a semifinalist at last year’s Australian Open (and won the tournament in 2016).
