Monica Puig brings Kamau Murray on as new coach

Murray had previously been working with Sloane Stephens, who he helped significantly over the last few years.

Monica Puig has started working with Sloane Stephen's former coach Kamau Murray, as she recently announced that he is part of her new team.

Puig also said she would be working with another coach, Othmane Garma, along with a new trainer and hitting partner. The world No. 59 is training at Murray's XS Tennis academy in Chicago.

"Big things are coming," she said.

The 25-year-old is an Olympic gold medalist who reached a career-high No. 27 in the rankings in 2016. But she finished the next two seasons below the Top 50, and is 2-4 for this season.

Puig previously worked with Juan Todero as her coach.
