Top 5: Photos from Federer's first French Open match in four years

It was four years since Roger Federer last slid on the red clay at Roland Garros, and it's been 10 years since  he won the title in Paris to complete a career Grand Slam. In his long-awaited return to the French Open, Federer faced Lorenzo Sonego of Italy in his opening match on the newly updated Philippe Chatrier Court. The 20-time Grand Slam champion was composed and determined as he eased past the Italian, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4.

At Friday's media day, Federer said, "I played here for many years. I started here at 20. I won here 10 years ago. It has been one of the greatest moments in my life, so I don't know what to expect as far as the results are concerned."

He will be back in action for his second-round match against 145th-ranked Oscar Otte on Wednesday.
